I’m Martina, your new food photographer.
Welcome to The Violet Frame! I’m the food photographer and recipe developer behind the camera. Originally from Italy, I’ve also lived in the United States and Switzerland. I have been in Geneva since 2019, where I met my boyfriend David, i.e. The Violet Frame’s official taste tester. Between my Italian roots and his Asian-American palate, we’re never getting bored around here!
I have always loved the challenge of creating beautiful recipes that anyone can enjoy, regardless of dietary preferences or habits.
In 2023, I left my tech corporate job (I do remain a project manager at heart) and started blogging full-time about home decor. I knew food would eventually become part of the equation. In 2025, I got my certification in Adobe Photoshop and, in the second half of the year, I finally made the jump and enrolled in the Pretty Focused photography course. I have been photographing all my favorite recipes ever since!

How It All Started
The Violet Frame started as a small side project to bring together my blogging experience and my passion for cooking. In late 2024, I realized I was growing tired of blogging only about home decor and wanted to try something new. Lo and behold, food photography turned out to be the best of both worlds!
While I still maintain my home decor blog part-time, I’m now focusing mostly on my food photography business. The Violet Frame has really brought together my experience as a project manager, blogger, home cook, and not-so-recovering perfectionist. From beautiful photos to keyword research, my goal is to make your life easier and help your dream audience find you as quickly as possible.
